HISTORY ________

REZIN is a wooden sunglasses brand created in March 2014 by three college graduate friends:

Paul, Clment & Etienne

We were living abroad together for three (month or year?) already. We were interested in entrepreneurship for a long time, as the end of college was getting closer. However, Rezin was more born by coincidence, rather than by a thoughtfully worked project. One of our friends father from Czech Republic was a cabinetmaker and worked at home on different items: furniture, tools, decorations One day, he broke his already well-used pair of glasses, and decided it was time to change! Thats how he got the idea of creating his own glasses frame with this material he liked to work with so much: wood.

He showed us the final result and we were blown away. Light, unique and so beautiful. Everything was there.

And so the idea came about!

________ OUR DEVELOPMENT________

The brands philosophy is the conception of a unique design based on a sustainable approach. From the clean lines vintage-inspirited designs created in our Parisian offices to the manufacturing in our workshops in the Hong-Kong area, we apply increasingly demanding quality criteria.

Wood drives us to create sophisticated manufactured glasses. Indeed, wood is a difficult raw material to work with to get a perfect result. Delicacy, resistance, materials alloy, lenses insertion and the frames adjustments are features we need to acknowledge to get the perfect pair of glasses.

Since 2014, our production line has progressed by improving our manufacturing process. In 2014, we started with raw wood glasses. In 2015, we were inspired by the glue-laminated to develop our Ultra-thin collection. In 2016, we want to work further on this production technique to make the glasses thinner, stronger and with a wider design range. This technical improvement will allow us de create, later, an optic collection available at our retailers.

Each pair of REZINismade of 13 ultrathin layers of wood each compressed under over tentons of pressure.
