MTG Playtest Tokens: Our goal is to offer players a chance to test out new deck ideas and explore everything that MTG has to offer.

Back Story:

My Friends and I began by making proxy cards in our spare time so we could all compete against each other with crazy deck ideas. The more we dove into it we found that experimenting with older cards only grew our passion for the game. We ended up pooling all our cards together and even created new ways of playing against each other. 

DeckTesters Goal:

To create high quality tokens used to play-test new deck ideas as well as preserve the value of their existing cards by keeping them out of play. After months of running numbers and experimenting we have found that if we are able to take this to a larger scale, we can allow players to purchase tokens from our website for pennies compared to the regular value of vintage cards

Token Specifications:

Our tokens will be the exact same size and weight of normal playing cards. The tokens pass both the bend test and the water test as well as they have the same blue core as found on normal playing cards. 

However to avoid copyright issues the tokens will have an altered back for distinguishability from original cards in circulation. 

Pricing:

With the prices of magic cards soaring through the roof, players need a chance to test out concepts and experiment before they go out and play tournaments. 

• $2 per card and $5 per foil once operating beyond breakeven margin. 

These cards will also be designed for the everyday player who just wants to take a dive into Modern, and even Vintage deck concepts. The ever expanding Mtg universe will no longer be restricted by cards that players refuse to take out of glass enclosures. 

Mtg has given us so much and we in no way want to start a counterfeit competition with Wizards of the Coast. While the cards will look and feel the same as the real things, they will be designed solely for practice and protecting the value of the real cards. 

Where is my pledge going?

After a bunch of research and development over the years we have found some of the best ways to create our product. Your pledge will be going to and much higher quality printer that will allow us to create the high quality images faster and more efficient. The money will also be going to the actual supplies needed to create the tokens on a much larger scale. Your pledge will also be going to all the capital it takes to operate and host an online shopping website.

The website will offer players the opportunity to browse both original and altered designs of cards in both standard and foil. The website will offer daily deals as well as package deals. We have created a hot list based on research we have done and we will keep the website up-to-date with the new cards and news.
