T-shirts are meant to be worn to keeps you comfortable. It doesn’t matter how nice or what cool features you have in a fabric, if it’s not comfortable, it’s a failure. After several reviews and hundreds of trials, we’ve finally chosen to work with the king of cotton, the world’s finest and softest cotton, 100% Peruvian Pima Cotton.

In order to grow exceptional cotton, you need exceptional growing conditions. Thanks to ideal growing conditions in Peru, Peruvian Pima cotton is the world’s finest, prized for its exceptional durability, softness and brilliant luster.

The faster something moves, the more its impact puts us at a disadvantage, with the producers focusing more on quantity and less on quality. At ANDY, we teamed up with the most experienced independent t-shirt artisans, who have been in the industry for around 20 years, in order to get the highest quality, detail-oriented striped t-shirt you will ever own.

We started with the roots. It was the French Navy that is thought to have been the first to utilize the sailor stripe pattern for its sailors in 1858, and its function was purely practical: If a sailor fell overboard, the bright, distinctive striped pattern acted like a modern-day neon jacket, which could easily be spotted amidst the waves. The navy blue symbolizes the color of the sea whilst white symbolizes the point at which the sea and the sky meet the horizon. We named it Basic Pattern.

T-shirts have been done so many times with a thousand cutting fits, but as firm believers of timeless design, we’ve chosen to start with the most everlasting cutting fit in a t-shirt. The tailored-fit classic crewneck. Since men and women have different body shapes, we provide men’s and women’s sizes separately in order to get maximum comfort.

The striped pattern for clothing evolved during Napoleon Bonaparte’s era. Initially used by the French Navy, it originated from small town Brittany, France. It has become increasingly popular ever since the 19th century. Trends come and go, but this timeless and historical pattern will live forever.
