Our mission is to become the worldwide licensor of the premier alternative toothbrush for use primarily by schools, military, travelers, disaster relief, other domestic submarkets, and as an oral delivery system for vitamins, therapeutics, and encapsulated vaccines for people in developing nations.

Dent-Chew Brush started developing Clean Bite™ in 2009, and we are now ready to take this incredibly unique product to market. Getting to this point took the design and manufacturing of proprietary equipment and tools, nine iterations of prototypes, and four and a half years for the US Patent and Trademark Office to accept our patent application.

As we bring Clean Bite™ to the masses, we have built strategic relationships with Creighton University School of Dentistry, University of Maryland Dental School, and DR Products, maker of the infant oral care products Spiffies and Xyliclean.

The most in-need subset of this population are the 31 million “at risk children” who have more than twice the number of untreated caries compared to their peers.

Dental caries also affects adults, with 9 out of 10 over the age of 20 having some degree of tooth-root decay. Military personnel, travelers, air passengers, hospital patients, victims of disaster relief, prison inmates, and the general “on-the-go” population will all hugely benefit from a dissolvable toothbrush that requires no home, no bathroom, no water, and no paste.

These are luxuries not everyone in the world enjoys. Tooth decay was identified by the U.S. Surgeon General as the most prevalent and preventable disease in the U.S. Moreover, oral health is not confined to the mouth but rather is a primary indicator of a person’s overall health.

The patented Clean Bite™ was designed to augment brushing by enabling anyone, anywhere to have access to oral hygiene, and to provide oral hygiene unmatched by any single use toothbrush available anywhere in the world, while addressing global health issues in ways never imagined.

Dent-Chew Brush founder John Gallagher designed Clean Bite™ based on his experience as a military medic. His original idea stemmed from an amputee who couldn’t brush his teeth. John set out to create an easy, yet accessible way for people with limited mobility or impoverished children to brush their teeth with no utensils needed.

Shaped like a mouthpiece, Clean Bite™ is made of a foodstuff that dissolves and is totally ingested after it brushes your teeth, gingival margin, and tongue.

By gently chewing on the mouthpiece-shaped gelatin and other GRAS (generally recognized as safe) materials for 60 to 90 seconds, your bite will activate the tiny brushes that clean your teeth and freshen breath.

Clean Bite™ Facts

Clean Bite™ has the potential to save lives. A 2012 PBS FRONTLINE article detailed the tragic deaths of two boys due to seemingly minor dental issues. In 2007, 12-year-old Deamonte Driver died after bacteria from an abscessed tooth traveled to his brain. Deamonte’s family had been in and out of homeless shelters most of his life, and oral hygiene is not a high priority for many in similar situations. When presented with the choice of “do I eat, or do I get medicine?” almost everyone would forego the pain and press forward.

That was the same situation Kyle Willis was in. Willis died in 2009 after being unable to afford antibiotics to treat a tooth infection.

Clean Bite™ is the ideal solution for families struggling financially. There are over 55 million children enrolled in American schools from pre-kindergarten through grade 12. Almost 2/3 of these children receive free or reduced cost breakfast and/or lunch through programs funded by the USDA. These children come from families who are presented with the choice every day to eat, or to buy medicine.

Clean Bite™ is making tooth brushing and oral hygiene more convenient, easier, and more accessible. We will bring this first-of-its-kind product to market in three steps:

• High speed equipment to manufacture the product
• Build regional sales programs to distribute the product
• License technology once manufacturing process has been perfected

Future endeavors include a Clean Bite™ adaptation for its use as a delivery system for vitamins, therapeutics, medications, and encapsulated vaccines. Clean Bite™ not only would act as a delivery system but also help in maintaining regimen given the instant gratification of a clean mouth each morning.

In late 2018, we plan to do for dogs what we are currently doing for humans. We expect to expanded applications for other domesticated animals as well.

John H. Gallagher, Jr., Founder & Inventor
John developed the Clean Bite™ from concept to reality and built the development team. Previously, he was SVP of AmeraCash Solutions, Inc., where he oversaw the recruitment of 400 independent merchants to establish Philadelphia’s largest POS network of utility payment locations. Prior to that, he founded and was president of American Recreational Builders, Inc. which constructed athletic facilities from 1973 to 1979. He remained president after his company merged with Gallagher and Associates of Palm Springs, CA, and transitioned to a unionized construction company specializing in the restoration of concrete and steel and
the application of protective coatings.

Roman Bielski, Ph. D, Chemist & Co-inventor
Dr. Bielski has expertise in the total synthesis of carbohydrates and pheromones, formation of micro and nanocapsules for the controlled delivery, synthesis of polymers and radiolabeled compounds, ultra-sensitive detection and measurements in biological fluids, food and petroleum products. Dr. Bielski has co-founded several small companies (Petramec, Petrotraces, and Attochrom/Biotraces), and at present, is a Senior Scientist in Value Recovery, Inc., one of four partners in Cheminnolab, LLC, Adjunct Professor at the Pharmaceutical Department of the Wilkes University, and has been elected a Secretary of the Chemical Consultants Network. Dr. Bielski holds a Master’s degree in chemical engineering and a Ph.D. in organic chemistry. He was a postdoctoral fellow at Imperial College in London with the Nobel laureate Sir Derek Barton. He worked in academia at Warsaw Agricultural University, Cornell University, and Lehigh University.

Thomas Holder, CAD Design
Thomas is the CEO of Thomas Holder Inc., a design firm he originally created in 1987. His CAD design expertise includes SolidWorks, the most popular 3D solid modeling software. Mr. Holder holds a BS from California State College (now California University of Pennsylvania) in Industrial Arts Education and a Master’s in Industrial Arts from Millersville University

Craig Callaghan, Esq., In-House General Counsel
Craig has practiced law for more than 25 years as a litigator at top tier firms in Philadelphia. He has represented clients in business counseling, complex litigation, and alternate dispute resolution. Craig is experienced in handling internal investigations, risk management, labor and employment, trade secrets and mass torts. He has also served as an arbitrator in the Philadelphia County Court of Common Pleas Compulsory Arbitration Program and as a trained certified mediator. His clients included, among others, major pharmaceutical companies and a top five accounting firm. Craig is an honors graduate of Thurgood Marshall School of Law where he graduated top of his class. He has been certified as a trained mediator by the Lancaster Mediation Center.
