Joli Beauty Bar: The first “finishing” service salon in NYC, which caters to getting women, and men, event ready

Originally from Syracuse, NY, I moved to NYC with the dream to make an impact in the beauty industry. I grew up loving people and always searching for a career that was creative, helpful to others, and fun. When I was 17, in lieu of immediately going to college, I went to cosmetology school. For over 10 years, I’ve worked in several salons, cosmetic retail companies, and medical spas. I love every experience but began to see the consistency in the inconsistent. Every business I worked for had a huge disconnect between the quality of service and the an environment it was trying to create for its clients and stylists.

Two years ago I met my now business partner, Zsuzsi. We were both laid off from jobs and forced to rethink our careers. I had a B.S. in Education and several years business management experience and Zsuzsi had several years experience in design and fashion. We both still wanted to stay in the industries we loved but we didn’t see an valid opportunity where our passions for people and the profession of beauty/design was equally valued. So we decided to create that opportunity for ourselves.

Joli Beauty Bar is the extension for my love of self-care, education and creating a beautiful safe space where everyone can feel loved and appreciated.

Our business is the first “finishing” service salon in NYC, which caters to getting women, and men, event ready. We offer blowouts, heat styles, haircuts, and full-face makeup application, anything to get you looking perfect for any occasion.

Joli also caters to the bridal industry. We have a bridal team that has extensive experience in bridal beauty and is ready to take care of any bridal party on their big day. We’re a preferred vendor for David’s Bridal, which gives us a lot of exposure and access to registered brides all over the city.

We at Joli want to be able to continue to provide services that all NYC residents value as a form of self-care and necessity for events and everyday. Joli has been voted by several beauty publications, such as Refinery29 and Allure, as one of the best spots in NYC to get “Party Ready”. Our social media gets us constant exposure and our business is growing everyday!

We need help keeping the best of the best on staff to maintain our quality and consistency. We also need to expand our marketing budget to create more outreach and exposure. We have no trouble keeping our clients happy, we just need more!
