The Challenge
Have you ever wondered before leaving for holidays that you are able to book your flight, a hotel, rent a car or even book a cab online but just cannot buy tickets for certain parks, museums or cinemas in advance? How is it possible that in the year 2016, there is still no platform where you can buy any ticket from anywhere in the world and with the currency of your choice? This certainly is a level of freedom that modern technology dictates.
The Solution
With Oticks, we are starting over. Oticks is a start-up company dedicated to selling worldwide tickets online in a way that is simple and straightforward for everyone who’s involved in any step of the process. While other online ticket platforms are limited to one region or some set of regions, Oticks can be implemented anywhere in the world, taking, exchanging and sending whatever currency everyone chooses to use. Of course, concerts, theater shows and sports events are serviced by the existing online ticket platforms but we intend to fill the niche that has been left open: museums, cinemas, etc.
The Market
Like any marketplace, Oticks biggest competitive advantage is its network effect. Oticks users are divided in two markets segmentations. People who are looking for tickets and those willing to sell their tickets.
- Buyers: This market segment involves customers looking for tickets. Oticks will provide easy processing and a worldwide range.
- Hosts: These include owners or venue managers who are willing to sell their events. Oticks will be providing a unique worldwide platform.
We know that a lot of companies choose to focus their marketing strategy in one segmented marketing at a time. Oticks on the other hand, is able to deal with both at once. The company’s model follows a structure where both marketing segments complement each other. To sum up, both– hosts and guests need each other in order to follow Oticks marketing concept.
How it works for the Seller
Each venue will get a completely customizable profile page, which includes a page header / wallpaper, a logo and a section for important information.
How it works for the Buyer
Buyers have the choice of purchasing the tickets online and then either immediately printing them or sending them to a smartphone.
Again, the key here is to clean up the mess that the ticket sales industry is already in. Through a child’s eyes “everything is possible” point of view we are going to make the whole process smoother and easier for everyone. A world-changing vision often necessitates a profound simplicity in the user experience.
Our Vision
Creating the future means having a global vision and an extreme focus on the approachability of what we’re creating. Our product will sweep across the world with a great design. Design is the meeting between global vision and making that vision approachable for a global audience.
Oticks will not own any tickets, rather enabling sellers and buyers to connect through our open worldwide online marketplace.
The Team
We are a team of young brothers, each bringing unique and valuable experience to the project. Wajahat Mirza 31 (left) has six years of business experience as an entrepreneur, Shaheryar Mirza 30 (right) workes in the AppleCare Partner Relation at Apple, and Imran Mirza 24 (middle) is a student of app development.
Together we share insatiable passions for innovation and hard work. Born in Pakistan, the older two of us immigrated to Germany when we were still toddlers, and we all grew up in Frankfurt. Our combined experiences and skill sets make us the perfect team for this task.

Risks and challenges
Because the product is digital and not physical, there could not be any problems with shipping or distribution. However, technical difficulties may arise during the development process, technical difficulties like bugs and other setbacks, and as such we have planned for an additional three-month window in our delivery time frame.
For that reason, rewards are scheduled to be delivered twelve months (rather than the customary nine) after the campaign has concluded.
We are intent on delivering a well-designed, functional product, and after focusing on that, we will move onto marketing, which represents an additional challenge. One big advantage of the Oticks business model is the network effect, as hosts and guests will be feeding off of each other once we get the ball rolling. We plan on using a minimum of paid advertising just to get the platform off the ground.
