What is the London Journal of Fiction?
The London Journal of Fiction is a new platform for writers of fiction, poetry and literary essays. We aim to foster new talent and good writing, regardless of style or genre.
Founded in the Summer of 2015, the LJF website launched to a warmer reception than we could have imagined. Our inboxes flooded with submissions from writers across the spectra of age and style and from countries around the world.
We want to get their work out there, which is where you come in!
About Issue One
Issue one is due to be released on the 7th March. The deadline for submissions passed at the end of January: now our editors are reading and choosing between roughly 1,000 stories and poems. Some have already been chosen, but there are many spaces left in the final issue, which will be around 92 pages long. We’ll be announcing the accepted submissions over the coming weeks.
The featured work will be varied but if you want to get a feel for our taste in literature, you can check out the work already on our website: http://www.londonjournaloffiction.com/, or donate to receive previews ahead of the print release!
We’re also proud to give you a preview of the cover art, designed by the talented Louis Fratino.

How can I be a part of it?
The LJF community is a broad church ranging from casual readers to professional writers. Right now what we need is to reach our funding goal in order to make the jump from online to print – so pledge, share, blog and tell all your friends!
Writers: we have a rolling deadline, so though you’ve missed your opportunity to contribute to the first print issue, you can still submit work for consideration online and in subsequent issues.
Distributors / booksellers: you can find us on the Nielsen book database or contact us directly via our website.
What we need the money for
Our operating costs are already covered by our online revenues, and all of our work is done by volunteers, which means that everything you give will go towards:
1) Printing the magazine
2) Paying our contributors
It’s as simple as that.
